Guns were roaring and the cries of injured men were ringing through my ears.
Ghastly guns were shooting past my head, making my hair tingle.
The tanks were like brick walls ploughing through the trees. The fire, dancing and moving, dodging the men as they run into the unknown.
Quickly dropping, the men in my platoon were losing.
This was war.

The Jetpack sport

My Sport is called Jetpack Gootball.

It is a hybrid sport that crosses golf and football.

Basic Rules
The aim of the game is pretty much like golf. There is 18 holes on a Gootball course. With the holes being either a par 3,4, or 5. Instead of hitting the golf ball with a golf club. You kick a size 3 football from the tee right until you get the ball into the 60cm in diameter hole. There is handicaps in gootball, just like golf and there are out of bounds and obstacles to kick over. Though the most surprising thing about this sport is that the world is slowly getting fatter so everybody who plays this sport has an option to use a jetpack to fly from point A to B. Though like golf carts there is no jetpacks on the passing green.

Handicap System
The handicap system for Gootball is exactly the same as golf. If your handicap is a 0 that means that you will keep your score the same after the round. If your handicap is a +4 you will have to add 4 to your score after the game and if your handicap is -34 you will have to minus 34 from your score. If your handicap is correct your nett score should be par. Your handicap is based on your best half of your scores handed in.

The Jetpacks
The jetpack is becoming more and more popular in Gootball. Some of the jetpacks are extremely expensive. If you are thinking of getting one. You will have to get one especially fitted for you.

The World Championships

The world championships are held every year at Royal Wellington Gootball course in New Zealand. In 2013 it was won by Jaden Fearon.

My world in colour!!!

If I were black, I’d be a shadow dancing around like a real person,

If I were yellow, I’d be a ripened banana getting picked, ready to be engulfed by the human mouth,

If violet, I would be a flourishing flower, deep in the heart of the rainforest,

If I were orange, I’d be the midday sun, pelting down on the thousands of tourists laying on the beaches of Spain.

If gold, I would be a 10 tonne nugget, waiting to be found.

If white, I would be a golf ball, brand new and ready to be hit.

If aqua, I would be the lapping waves gently crashing onto the shore of the remote desert island,

If I were navy blue, I’d be a fighter pilot uniform, ready to be worn,

If I were cream, I’d be nothing more, nothing less, I would just be whipped cream,

If bronze, I would be the tan after being in a sunbed too long,

If I were brown, I’d be dog poop sticking to the bottom of someones new trainers,

If green, I would be the dense jungle, waiting to be discovered.

I chose to write about Diego Maradona because I love football and he is one of the best footballers ever. What do you think?

Diego Maradona
Biography

Diego Armando Maradona was born on the 30th of October 1960 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was an amazing footballer that shaped the world with his amazing skills including the maradona which he invented. He led Argentinian teams to many titles and was voted the best footballer in the 20th century with Pele (a brazilian). He had many nicknames including “Hand Of God” after handballing the ball into the back of the net  in the 1986 World Cup Quarter-final against England.

Diego’s parents were Diego Maradona and Dalma Salvadora Franco. Diego was the 5th child but first for his father. Diego was brought up in a shaggy house in Villa Fiorito, a province of Buenos Aires. Diego received his football at the age of three as a present. After that he was always going to play football. Diego was brought up in a very poor area so going to school was impossible for him.

At the age of 10 a scout saw Diego playing and took him to play for Los Cebollita, a youth team of Argentinos Juniors, one of the biggest clubs in Argentina. After a few years Diego made his debut for Argentinos Juniors against Talleres de Cordoba on the 20th of October 1976, shortly before his 16th birthday. After leading them to an amazing league win he moved to Boca Juniors in 1981. Also one of the biggest clubs in Argentina. He lead them to be champions as well. After he got bored of Boca he moved to Barcelona for two years. After a fair amount of time there he moved to Napoli in 1984 and spent an astonishing 7 years there. After that he moved to Sevilla in 1992. After that he moved to Newell’s Old Boys in 1993, He spent a season there. The last non international club for him was Boca Juniors again, he moved to them in 1995.

While he was playing in Spain, he got addicted to drugs. To be precise, cocaine. Due to that he got a 15 month suspension ban. While he was on that suspension ban, he became obese and that dramatically changed his life. He was one of the lucky ones as he was healthy again as quick as anything.

His international career was one of the best ever. He played for Argentina from 1972-1992. He scored an astonishing 34 goals from 91 appearances. He finally announced his retirement to football on his 37th birthday. The 30th of October 1997. After his retirement he was named the Argentina coach. Diego said he would like to coach Napoli one day as well.

Diego Maradona was one of the greatest footballers ever and could never be replaced again. Even though he was an addict he fought through and always was a super star. Diego Maradona was my favourite footballer of the 20th century. He changed the style of football in the world and many people still do all of the tricks he did. (Even though he tricks were so talented not anyone can do them). Diego was the best of the best and was a legend of the football world.

Paua Poem

Paua,
sparkling in the crisp blue sea,
gripping to the rocks,
like a baby and its dummy,
waves lapping against the sharp rocks,
the paua feels so alive,
the rough edges of the rocks,
are like smooth cotton to the paua,
the paua is invincible,
a treasure at the bottom of the rock pool,
the shell,
rough as sand paper,
the salt gripping to it,
the salty,
the slimy,
paua is unstoppable on the outside,
but a pure sea pearl on the inside.

Many routes to take

The swift sway of the spine chilling autumn wind,
the soft transparent ball is like the moon with many craters,
the last seed,
stuck on with superglue,
then it falls into the black abyss below,
down, down, down,
it falls all the way down,
whoosh,
the wind picks it up,
as light as the lightest feather,
nothing more than a needle in a haystack,

where will it end up?

Friends Free Verse Poetry

Friends for life,
nothing will come between us,
laughing and giggling,
like a constant sugar rush,
daring each other,
to do stupid things,
playing together,
having a blast all the time,
always running and pouncing about,
bundles of energy,
never drop down,
while i’m with you,
friends for life.
